I am so inspired when looking at a piece like this one. This goes beyond pure talent. The drawing is rendered in a most stunning pose. There is so much detail going on here that you really have to take the time to look at this to really grasp the beauty of it. The highlights and dark tones are just spot on. Wonderful to view..amazing details just make this work stand out. It is almost photographic. I love that the whole frame is also used..fore ground and back ground are blending in perfectly. The deep tones just let the suddenness of the white highlights glow through.
Wonderful piece. Thank you for sharing this and the work you did on it.
One of the things I love most about this skecth is the sepia tone it has. It sets it apart from other portraits that are usually just black and white and grey toned. The colour gives it a different mood, almost like it's from an old movie or a film noir.
The technique and skill of the artist is just brilliant, the shading and lighting of the skin is so accurate and smooth. The detail is so fine, from his stubble, to his frown lines, to Viggo's distinctive dimple in his chin, the artist has captured them all perfectly. The writing on his shirt is clear and neat and you can distinguish that he is leaning against wood.
The artist has picked a lovely photo, the fact that you can just see his profile and he is not looking at the viewer adds a certain poignancy, makes it seem he is in his own little world. The way the artist has portrayed the lighting is very skilful and just adds more beauty to this wonderful portrait.
The lighting and setting really set the mood! As the viewer, I'm drawn in to examine the strong contours of his face (mostly the forehead because I have a thing of foreheads ) And the patience you must have to create such a brilliant homage to the actor must be endless
This is so awesome! It looks so real! Great job, the combination of the lighting on his face and the background really make the subject stand out and really pop. Amazing work on the hair too! I've noticed you are spectacular with hair in you sketches. I'm learning just looking at you work!
