Shirley Jane Temple (born April 23, 1928), later known as Shirley Temple Black, is an American film and television actress, singer, dancer, autobiographer, and former U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia. She began her film career in 1932 at the age of three, and in 1934, skyrocketed to superstardom in Bright Eyes, a feature film designed specifically for her talents.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this was oh its a photo! I had to do a double take! You drew this very life like. I like the slight pout that her mouth has. The folds in her clothing look very natural and like they belong there. I would work on the Curls a bit though at the very top because it looks like there are curls where the hair has ended if that makes any sense. On the right arm it looks like it has some extra skin behind the forearm that should not be there as well. Other then that good job
I'm here on behalf of #ThePencilClub as a mentor. I thought this was fantastic upon seeing the thumbnail, and oh look, I fav'd it in the past! The only thing I would say to work on is how the background is just plain black, usually when art has a background it has more impact. It makes Shirley Temple look like she's awkwardly floating as well. I'm sure in the reference photo she was leaning on a table...drawing that in in a piece like this would improve it tremendously... but other than that small little exercise of background, this is flawless! Very great job!
It seems to be shaded in a more old-timey photo like the ones taken in the early 20th century! Which is fantastic in the portrayal of little Ms. Temple and the choice of expression and pose gives her away as once being a glamorous actress in the 30's. You deserved that 2nd place... And dare I say the first place after I have viewed the contest. Brilliant work
This is amazing I still see it's a drawing, but so realistic drawing that it's hard to believe, so I keep on watching (when a drawing looks exactly like a photo with no pencil stores visible it doesn't catch me eye for so long)
